Entrance priority

Visitors with disabilities or special health needs are granted priority access; please contact the staff for information and assistance. Please note that admission to State museums is free of charge for people with disabilities and a family member or other accompanying person who can prove that they are members of the social and health care services, in accordance with Ministerial Decree 507/97, amended with Ministerial Decree 13/2019 and L.104/92 (it may be necessary to produce suitable certification).

The main entrance is located on Via Belle Arti 56 and has a staircase with four steps. The side access to the portico in front of the Pinacoteca (Via Belle Arti corner of Via de’ Rolandis) also has a staircase with four steps.

The route without architectural barriers starts at the corner of Via Belle Arti and Via Antonio Bertoloni: on Via Belle Arti 48 you enter the portico which, after about 100 metres, leads to the entrance of the Art Gallery.

The ticket office is located just beyond the entrance, on the right. A ramp leads to the reception and cloakroom area, where backpacks and bags can be deposited. The museum bookshop, on the other hand, is located in an area not accessible to wheelchairs, as it can only be reached via a staircase with two steps.

The lift is located immediately after the ticket office, on the left side of the corridor. Using the lift it is possible to reach the basement floor (where the wheelchair accessible toilets are located) and the first floor, the starting point of the museum visit.
The museum sections have different levels and are connected by ramps and stair lifts.
The stairlifts measure 69×79 cm and have a maximum load capacity of 225 kg. If a wheelchair is larger, during the visit it is possible to use the chair provided by the museum, which measures 37×43 cm; in this case please contact the staff for information and assistance.

L’ingresso a Palazzo Pepoli Campogrande si trova in Via Castiglione 7. Dal portone si accede al cortile interno, sul lato destro si trova lo scalone che conduce al primo piano, punto d’inizio della visita. Lo scalone è composto da tre rampe di 36 gradini. All’interno del palazzo non è presente l’ascensore e il primo piano è accessibile solo attraverso lo scalone, che non è dotato di servoscala.

Guide dogs for the blind and service dogs for assisting the disabled may enter without permission or notification of their presence prior to the visit, provided they wear the appropriate harness and are mandatorily kept on a leash.
